Notes:

Amelia Barbara Thompson was born in Cuddalore in May 1840. She married James BULLOCK at the age of 18 in August 1858. She accompanied her husband when his Battalion sailed from Madras for Moulmein in former British Burma in November 1858. She is known to have died, (of dysentry, it is believed) in June 1859. According to the account of the expedition by Capt David Dinwiddie, there was an infant son who also died. She was buried at the British cemetery in Toungoo, Pegu Province, (present day Bago Region) in Myanmar (Burma). 4


Amelia married James BULLOCK, son of Thomas William BULLOCK and Anna VERDUIJN, on 16 Aug 1858 in <Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, India>.1 (James BULLOCK was born on 5 Sep 1834 in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, India, christened on 21 Oct 1834 in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, India,5 died on 10 Feb 1896 in Bangalore (Bengaluru), Karnataka, India 6 and was buried on 12 Feb 1896 in St. John's Cemetery, (Kalpalli) Bangalore, (Bengaluru), Karnataka, India 7.)


  

There were evidently no surviving children from this short marriage.
