James and Maxine emigrated to Australia shortly after their marriage in 1951.. Their first child was born in Melbourne, Victoria. The family moved again to eventually settle in the UK, leaving Sydney on board SS Orion (Orient Line) bound for Southampton in February 1956.2 3

There is known to have been one child from this marriage. There may have been others.
