Elizabeth UNDERWOOD, or "Widow Ingram" as she was popularly known, was Licensee and Proprietress of The Ship Inn, Prittlewell, Southend-on-Sea from 1770 to 1776. The licence was then passed on to her daughter Mary INGRAM who continued to run the establishment until 1790, when it was taken over by her brother William INGRAM (Jr). Elizabeth married William INGRAM, son of Thomas INGRUME and Tabitha BINKS, on 7 Oct 1732 in St. Andrew's Church, Rochford, Essex, England.1 2 (William INGRAM was born in 1710 in Rochford, Sub-District Of Prittlewell, Essex England and died circa 1764 in Southend-On-Sea, Essex, England.)
