William INGRAM was a seaman or mariner in the Royal Navy from about 1748 to 1764 and, among other ships of the line, served aboard HMS Lyon. It is not know whether he was first pressed into service before becoming a volunteer.

His will was proved on 28 Aug 1764 - he left all to his wife. Will of William INGRAM of Rochford 1764 on H.M.S. `Lyon` The Will is held at Chelmford.
