Notes:

John BODDINGTON of Carlton. So far it is not clear where this early ancestor of ours came from. Parish Registers for Carlton, Harrold and Pertenhall make no mention of a BOD(D)INGTON, (or other derivatives of the name) earlier than about 1613. John is thought to have migrated into the district from another parish or county. However, according to a record found in the International Genealogical Index (Church of the LDS), John BODDINGTON was said to have been born in Carlton, Bedfordshire in 1610. He is shown as having married a certain "Mrs. John BODDINGTON" (sic) of the same parish in 1630. "Mrs. John BODDINGTON" was also born in 1610. The original source for this data is not given. Nor is there is any explanation for the curious use of the married title instead of the woman's maiden name. The record is not an official transcription from LDS archives, (microfiche or film) however, but was apparently submitted by a LDS church member. Unfortunately there are no contact details for the submitter.

John BODDINGTON was one of many peasant class farm workers and labourers who earned their keep working for the manor farms and country estates of the wealthy landowners of those times.

John married circa 1630 in Carlton, Bedfordshire, England.
