Josef Librecht VERDUIJN

  • Born: 4 Dec 1785, Cochin (Kochi), Kerala, India 1 2
  • Marriage (1): Ruth Anna circa 1810 in <Cochin (Kochi), Kerala, India>
  • Died: 1837, Cochin (Kochi), Kerala, India aged 52 3

Another name for Josef was 'Sebreght'.

Notes:

Josef Librecht (aka "Sebrecht"), the third son of Hendrik Jacob VERDUIJN is strongly believed to be the father of Ann Verdyn (Anna Verduijn). This assumption is based entirely on circumstantial evidence. So far, no church or civil record has been found to corroborate it. However, 'Sebrecht', his wife 'Ruth Anna; and his daughter 'Anna' are mentioned in the book "St. Francis Church, Cochin" by T.W. Venn, (see Sources). The author's stated source for his data was the Dutch Church Book, "Doopboekje" (sic). The Dutch Church register was known to be in use prior to about 1820, when the new Anglican Church register was brought into use. It is certain that details of Josef Librecht's marriage and the birth of his daughter Anna or Ruth Anna would have been recorded in this register. Regrettably, it's present whereabouts is not known, However, research continues. 4

Josef married Ruth Anna circa 1810 in <Cochin (Kochi), Kerala, India>. (Ruth Anna was born circa 1794 in <Cochin (Kochi), Kerala, India>.)
